In March of 2011, a young father in Detroit, Michigan, was tragically killed in his own home. Martin Walker Murry, a 25-year-old man, was fatally shot when it appeared someone broke into his residence, located near Mound Road and Outer Drive, through a window. His body was later discovered by a friend of the family. At the time of his death, Murry was the loving father of a one-year-old son.
Described by his family and friends as a fun-loving, kind, and generous person, his sudden and violent death left his community in shock. In the months that followed, his family made public pleas for any information that could lead to the arrest of the person or persons responsible. His older sister, Jacinta, urged the community to come together and speak out against the violence plaguing the city. Despite police exploring some leads in the case, no arrests have been made, and the murder remains unsolved. The family continues to seek justice for their loved one.
