An argument between two men working in a garage on a Thursday morning in Wilmerding, Pennsylvania, escalated into a fatal encounter that left one of them dead. The victim was identified as 47-year-old Edwin R. Green, a male from Verona. The tragic events unfolded on March 17, 2022, in the 700 block of Middle Avenue.
According to witnesses, Green and another man, Jason E. Grubb, were in Green's garage when a dispute broke out. An employee of Green's stated that the argument was over money. The situation quickly turned violent when Grubb allegedly brandished a firearm, struck Green over the head with it, and then shot him in the abdomen. Emergency services were called to the scene just before 10:30 a.m. Green was transported to a local hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
Later that same day, at approximately 1:30 p.m., law enforcement located and arrested the suspect, 47-year-old Jason E. Grubb of North Versailles. He was taken into custody at a family member's residence in the Marshall-Shadeland neighborhood of Pittsburgh. Grubb was subsequently charged with criminal homicide, recklessly endangering another person, and carrying a firearm without a license. The Allegheny County Police Department's Homicide Unit led the investigation into Green's death.
