On June 14, 2022, 27-year-old Shawn Brookins was tragically shot and killed inside his home in Penn Hills, a suburb of Pittsburgh, PA. Brookins, who was African American, was found dead by first responders who arrived at the scene just before 2 a.m. The Allegheny County Medical Examiner confirmed his identity and cause of death.
