Patrolman Leroy Bouker, aged 52, of the Cleveland Division of Police, was shot and killed on November 27, 1912. Bouker was responding to shots he heard near William S. Bracken’s meat market at 1648 St. Clair Avenue. Upon arriving, he observed four suspects getting into a vehicle. He drew his weapon and ordered them to stop, but they ignored his command and shot him multiple times, killing him instantly.
