John Anthony Ruppert, a four-year-old boy from Hamilton, Ohio, tragically lost his life on March 30, 1975. His death was part of a horrific event known as the Easter Sunday Massacre. On that fateful day, his uncle, James Urban Ruppert, fatally shot eleven members of his family in their home on Minor Avenue in Hamilton. The victims included John's mother, Charity; his brother, Leonard Jr.; his sister-in-law, Alma; and their eight children, ranging in age from four to seventeen.
