Mary Lynn Beall, a 43-year-old female Dayton police officer, tragically passed away on August 25, 2002, due to complications from injuries sustained in a shooting incident on May 15, 2000. Officer Beall was shot by Raham Twitty, a suspect she was attempting to negotiate with during a domestic disturbance call. Twitty fired a .30-caliber handgun at her neck, causing paralysis from the neck down. Despite her injuries, Officer Beall managed to testify against Twitty in court.
