On June 25, 2000, Wayne Leon, a 32-year-old male police officer with the Cleveland Division of Police, was fatally shot during a routine traffic stop at East 40th Street and Community College in Cleveland, Ohio. Officer Leon had exited his vehicle when the suspect, Quisi Bryan, approached and shot him in the face. Despite being transported to a local hospital, Officer Leon succumbed to his injuries.
