Courtney Hatfield, a 20-year-old woman from Newark, Ohio, tragically lost her life on January 24, 2001. She was the daughter of H. Douglas Hatfield and Kathleen Rose . The incident occurred at their family home on 106 South 35th Street in Newark. Responding to a suicide call, police discovered the bodies of Courtney, her parents, and their two dogs in the front bedroom of their home. H. Douglas Hatfield, aged 48, had shot his wife, daughter, and pets before turning the gun on himself.
