Perry Long, an 18-year-old from Detroit, Michigan, was killed on June 28, 2011. His death adds to the tragic count of over 8,000 homicides in Detroit since 1980, of which nearly two-thirds remain unsolved. The city's Murder Bureau, tasked with investigating these incidents, faces ongoing challenges due to lack of manpower, insufficient evidence, and reluctance of witnesses to come forward. As a result, many of these cases go cold, including Perry Long's, which remains unsolved to this day.
