Kiontae Atkins, 34, was killed in a drive-by shooting in Detroit on August 8, 2011. The incident occurred around 5 p.m. near his mother’s home on Carlin Street. Tragically, Atkins was an unintended victim, caught in the crossfire of a gang-related attack. Jerome Hamilton and Roderek Perry, members of the Rollin' 60s Crips, a street gang that originated in Los Angeles but had expanded into Detroit, were later implicated in the crime.
