Shawn D. Boyd Jr., a 22-year-old Black male from Columbus, Ohio, was a beloved son, father, and friend whose life was tragically cut short. On May 1, 2014, Shawn was in the area of East Livingston Avenue and Lonsdale Road when he became the victim of a senseless act of gun violence. He was shot in the head and rushed to Grant Medical Center, where doctors worked tirelessly to save his life.
