Isaiah Andrews, an 83-year-old African American man from Cleveland, Ohio, was acquitted in 2021 after spending 45 years in prison for the 1974 murder of his wife, Regina Andrews. The Ohio Innocence Project uncovered evidence that police had initially investigated another suspect, Willie Watts, but failed to disclose this information to the defense during the original trial. This suppression of evidence led to a new trial, where Andrews was found not guilty.
