Torrey T. Hill, a 35-year-old male from Lorain, Ohio, tragically passed away on June 16, 2014. Torrey was born on February 28, 1979, and had been a lifelong resident of Lorain. His death was the result of a self-inflicted gunshot wound during a standoff and hostage situation.
On the night of his death, Torrey was involved in a confrontation with law enforcement after violating a temporary protection order. He had a history of prior incidents with the female resident, including felonious assault, intimidation of a crime victim, domestic violence, and previous protection order violations. When the SWAT team entered the home, they found Torrey lying on the second floor with a gunshot wound to the head and a loaded gun near his body. Despite efforts to save him, Torrey was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Lorain County coroner was involved in the investigation, and it was determined that Torrey's death was a result of the self-inflicted gunshot wound. There were no arrests or suspects in connection with his death, as it was ruled a suicide.
