Davia A. Garth, a 12-year-old African American girl from Cleveland, OH, tragically lost her life on October 30, 2014. The incident occurred during a domestic dispute at her family home on Cleveland's east side. Davia's stepfather, Rufus Gray, allegedly shot and killed her while also wounding her mother, Sonya Gray-Garth. The dispute began when Gray broke into the home, leading to the fatal shooting.
