Kelsey Louise Crook, a 27-year-old Caucasian woman from Somerset, Ohio, tragically passed away on November 10, 2014. She was a dedicated Registered Nurse at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and was known for her loving nature and devotion to her three children, Hunter, Morgan, and Waylon. Kelsey's life was cut short in what was determined to be an apparent murder-suicide.
The incident occurred at Kelsey's home on Township Road, just outside of Somerset.
According to reports, Kelsey was shot multiple times by her longtime boyfriend, Jason Grubb, who then took his own life with a .45-caliber handgun. Jason reportedly called his sister and confessed to the murder before committing suicide. The Perry County Coroner confirmed that Kelsey's death was a homicide, followed by Jason's suicide.
The tragic event shocked the community and the medical center where Kelsey worked. OSU Wexner Medical Center released a statement expressing deep sorrow over the loss and offering support to Kelsey's family and colleagues. The Perry County Sheriff's Office conducted an investigation but did not comment further on the case.
Kelsey's family, including her mother Debbie Green and her three children, were left to cope with the devastating loss. The community rallied around them, offering condolences and support. Donations were made to the Grubb Kids Fund at the Commodore Bank in Somerset to help with the children's care and future education.
