Velar Brown, a 32-year-old male from Lockland, Ohio, tragically died on November 17, 2014. His death was the result of a double shooting incident in Lockland, where he and another man, Patrick Washington, 23, were found shot. According to the Hamilton County Coroner's Office, both men suffered gunshot wounds, and Brown was pronounced dead at UC Medical Center.
The incident occurred in the 600 block of West Wyoming Avenue, where emergency crews were called to the scene around 3:15 p.m.
Investigators initially looked for occupants of a white Kia believed to be involved in the shooting. However, it was later determined that Brown and Washington had shot each other. Brown had been wanted by police since early September for allegedly stabbing a woman in the leg. Washington, on the other hand, had pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct charges after being found beating a man in the same block earlier in the year.
The tragic event left the community in shock, and Brown's mother publicly called for an end to the violence, urging people to "kill them with kindness". Despite the investigation, no arrests were made in connection with the deaths of Brown and Washington, as it was determined that they had shot each other.
