Dwayne Curtis, a 27-year-old African American man from Trotwood, Ohio, tragically lost his life on May 3, 2015, in Dayton, OH. The incident occurred at an illegal liquor establishment, often referred to as a "boot joint," located on Germantown Street. Curtis had been ejected from the party due to his behavior but returned with a gun, forcing his way back into the establishment. A shootout ensued, resulting in Curtis being fatally shot and six other individuals sustaining gunshot wounds.
