On October 11, 2011, the life of Reginald Simmons, a 20-year-old African American male, was tragically cut short in Detroit, Michigan. The young man was discovered at a residence located at 18437 Plainview Avenue, a house situated within a neighborhood on the city's west side. Officers from the Detroit Police Department were called to the scene, marking the beginning of a homicide investigation that would leave a family searching for answers for over a decade.
