On August 12, 2015, 38-year-old Joshua Hise, a white male from Springfield, Ohio, was found unconscious in the parking lot of an apartment complex on Vester Avenue following a physical altercation. Emergency responders transported him to Springfield Regional Medical Center, and he was subsequently airlifted to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton due to the severity of his injuries, which included a fractured skull and significant brain hemorrhaging.
