Derico Rodriques Thomas, a 27-year-old African American man from Akron, OH, tragically lost his life on September 7, 2015, following a shooting at Movement Nightclub in Canton, OH. Thomas, who was working as a security guard at the nightclub, was pronounced dead at the scene after sustaining a gunshot wound to the head. The incident occurred during an early Sunday morning shooting, and police were called to the scene at 1:38 a.m. for reports of a large fight.
