Nancy Culp, a 62-year-old woman from Lucasville, Ohio, tragically died on April 13, 2016. Her death was part of a double homicide investigation that also involved 83-year-old Bobby DeHart. The Scioto County Sheriff's Office determined that both deaths were homicides.
The investigation revealed that Anthony Carl Colvin, a 33-year-old acquaintance of DeHart, was responsible for the murders. Colvin was reportedly caught stealing money from DeHart, which led to an altercation.
During this altercation, DeHart was shot, and when Culp, who lived in the unit above, came to investigate the disturbance, she was also shot by Colvin. Colvin then fled the scene.
Colvin was arrested a few days later and charged with two counts of aggravated murder and one count of grand theft auto in an unrelated case. He was taken into custody and held on a $505,000 bond. In 2017, Colvin pleaded guilty to the charges and was sentenced to two consecutive life sentences without the possibility of parole for 40 years.
