On February 18, 2007, 85-year-old Thelma Mooney was found dead in her home on Thomas Street in Ironton, Ohio. Mooney had been brutally stabbed, and the discovery of her body was made by family members. The local police immediately began a homicide investigation. During the early days of the case, Thelma's grandson, Jason Mooney, and his wife, Lisa, were initially arrested and charged.
