Douglas Kapel

Douglas L. Kapel, a 48-year-old male from Fairport Harbor, died on September 2, 2016, in Port Clinton, Ohio. The circumstances surrounding his death were unusual and tragic. Kapel was involved in a traffic stop initiated by a Trooper who observed his vehicle speeding on Route 2. During the stop, Kapel informed the Trooper that his license was suspended. The situation escalated, and Kapel ultimately took his own life during the encounter.
