On August 8, 2017, at approximately 2:37 a.m., Columbus Police officers responded to a report of shots fired at 7401 Kirkdale Drive in Columbus, Ohio. The caller indicated that they would transport the shooting victim to the hospital themselves. At around 2:43 a.m., the victim arrived at Mount Carmel East Hospital and was immediately taken to the trauma unit. Despite medical efforts, the victim, identified as 35-year-old Black male Kenneth Edward Davis, was pronounced deceased at 2:55 a.m.
