Tyreese Keith Lynch Sr., a 22-year-old African American male from Youngstown, OH, tragically passed away on August 29, 2017, at St. Elizabeth Health Center. He was born on October 6, 1994, and was known for his active involvement in his church's Jr. Usher board and Mime ministry, as well as his participation in the Volney Rogers Football League. Tyreese was a devoted fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cleveland Cavaliers, and he enjoyed spending time with his family and children.
The
circumstances surrounding Tyreese's death involved a shooting incident. He was found shot in a vehicle on Chicago Avenue, and despite efforts to save him, he succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. The investigation led to the arrest of Charles Allen, a 24-year-old suspect, who was charged with Tyreese's murder. Allen was taken into custody in October 2017, and the case went to trial.
During the trial, prosecutors alleged that Tyreese's murder was a "hit" and that Allen was paid to carry out the crime. However, Allen's defense argued that the police and prosecutors failed to fully investigate the case and did not provide sufficient evidence to link Allen to the murder. After a careful deliberation, the jury found Charles Allen not guilty of the murder on October 10, 2018. The jurors reached their decision in just two hours, and Allen's family and friends expressed relief and joy at the verdict.
