D'Andre D. Pete, a 25-year-old male of African American ethnicity, tragically lost his life on July 13, 2018, in Akron, Ohio. The incident occurred when Kennae Baker, a 21-year-old man from Akron, attempted to rob Pete and his girlfriend, Jenna Smith, at their apartment. During the robbery, Baker fired a shot that struck a glass coffee table next to Smith. As Smith fled the apartment, Baker shot Pete in the chest, resulting in his death.
