Walker was in a relationship with Courtney Sprachmann, who lived on Maar's property. On the day of the shooting, Maar confronted Walker and demanded that he leave the premises. The confrontation escalated, and Walker shot Maar multiple times, ultimately leading to his death.
Walker was later arrested and charged with felonious assault and illegal possession of a handgun. During the trial, witnesses testified that Walker shot Maar from behind as he was descending the stairs.
