Khristopher Jordan Ketring, a 25-year-old male from Loveland, Ohio, tragically passed away on June 11, 2019. His death was the result of a gunshot wound he sustained during a home invasion. The incident occurred around 3:15 AM at his residence on Wards Corner Road in Miami Township. According to police reports, two armed men, aged 17 and 20, broke into Ketring's home with the intent to rob him.
During the confrontation, Ketring was fatally shot.
The suspects, identified as Bryson Michaelis, 20, and a 17-year-old accomplice, were arrested shortly after the incident. Michaelis was indicted on charges of aggravated murder, kidnapping, and two counts of murder. The 17-year-old suspect's case was handled in juvenile court. The investigation revealed that the suspects knew Ketring and that the robbery was premeditated, involving plans to steal money and drugs.
The Miami Township Police Chief, Mike Mills, assured the community that the homicide was not a random act and that the arrests should help calm the immediate neighbors. Ketring's father, Jeff Ketring, mentioned that his son had been making dangerous choices and socializing with people his father considered risky. The case drew significant attention, and the bond for Michaelis was set at $2 million due to the severity of the charges.
