On July 15, 2019, 17-year-old Takim Brown was shot and killed while standing on a sidewalk outside a store near the intersection of Mayfield and Eddington roads in Cleveland Heights, Ohio. Brown, who was African American, was taken to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival. The incident occurred around 9 p.m., and police believe that Brown was shot once.
