Christopher Monroe, a 23-year-old male from Cleveland, OH, tragically lost his life on September 21, 2019. Monroe was one of four victims found dead in an abandoned house on Cleveland’s East Side. The victims, including Monroe, were killed by multiple gunshot wounds, and their deaths were ruled as homicides. The other victims were identified as Dejuan Willis, 20, Aiyanna Quitman, 19, and Jazmyne Lawson, 18.
The investigation into the murders revealed that Terrell Silver, a 35-year-old
man, was responsible for the killings. Silver entered the home where the victims were staying and shot them as they lay on mattresses on the floor. The bodies were discovered decomposed, indicating that the murders took place over a two-week period between September 7 and September 21, 2019.
Silver was arrested in April 2023 and later found guilty of seven counts of aggravated murder, four counts of murder, five counts of felonious assault, one count of attempted murder, and one count of aggravated burglary. In September 2024, he was sentenced to five consecutive life sentences without the possibility of parole, along with an additional 30.5 to 36 years for his crimes.
The families of the victims, including Monroe’s former girlfriend Sierra Hayes and their young son Pierre, have been deeply affected by the tragedy. Hayes has expressed her grief and the difficulty of explaining the loss to their son. The case has drawn significant attention, and the families continue to seek justice and closure for their loved ones.
