Joseph Jordan DiGiacomo, a 32-year-old male of Italian ethnicity from Youngstown, Ohio, tragically passed away on April 23, 2020. He was found shot to death alongside Kevin Cartwright, another 32-year-old male, on Nelson Avenue in Youngstown. The Mahoning County Coroner’s Office confirmed that both victims died from gunshot wounds. The Youngstown Police Department continues to investigate the double homicide, but the case remains unsolved.
Prior to his death, Joseph DiGiacomo had a history of legal troubles. In March 2018, he was sentenced to 17 months in prison after pleading guilty to burglary in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court. Additionally, in March 2020, he pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct and domestic violence, resulting in his participation in a batterer’s intervention program.
The investigation into the murders of Joseph DiGiacomo and Kevin Cartwright is ongoing, with Youngstown police making some progress but not offering specifics. The community continues to seek justice for the victims and their families.
