On July 11, 2020, Savannah Cotton, a four-year-old girl from Cleveland, Ohio, tragically lost her life in what authorities have determined to be a murder-suicide. Savannah's mother, Noelle Cotton, a 34-year-old woman, fatally shot her daughter before turning the gun on herself. The incident occurred inside their Cleveland Heights home, where the bodies were discovered by authorities in a bedroom. Preliminary investigations indicated that Noelle shot Savannah before taking her own life.
