Andre De'Shaun Clayborn, affectionately known as "Dre," was a 38-year-old African American man who tragically passed away on October 2, 2020, in Columbus, Ohio. On the night of his death, Andre was one of three victims in a shooting incident that occurred in the early hours of
October 2, 2020, at a residence on Parsons Avenue in South Columbus. Police were alerted by a ShotSpotter alert and found Andre suffering from gunshot wounds inside the house. He was rushed to OhioHealth Grant Medical Center but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.
David Bullock, a 33-year-old man, was later charged with murder in connection with Andre's death. Bullock turned himself in to the police and was taken into custody. The incident also left two other individuals, Blair Ray and Jarrett Gordon, injured. The investigation revealed that there was an argument that led to the shooting.
The case went to court, and David Bullock faced charges of murder. However, in a surprising turn of events, Bullock was acquitted of the murder charges in March 2024. The jury accepted his claim of self-defense, stating that he acted to protect himself and others present during the shootout.
