On January 8, 2017, 33-year-old Savaughn L. Conner was found shot to death in Columbus, Ohio. He was discovered on a grass lot near a business park at 2169 South James Road. According to the investigation, surveillance footage showed that Conner's body had been dumped from a vehicle around 12:35 a.m. The police determined that he had been shot five times, sustaining gunshot wounds to his back, abdomen, and left forearm.

Roundtree, who was indicted for Conner's murder. Testimonies in court revealed that Roundtree had picked up Conner in a vehicle, a gray Chevy Tahoe, on the night of the incident. During an argument, Roundtree reportedly shot Conner multiple times inside the vehicle. Afterward, Roundtree disposed of the body near the business park. Additionally, Roundtree was said to have deleted messages from Conner's cellphone, which he later disposed of, along with the weapon.
Conner’s death is remembered on Gun Memorial, where friends and family left tributes describing him as a funny, generous person who was a devoted father. He was known by his nickname "Meatball" and worked as a cook, often described as someone who would give anything for those around him. The Columbus Police and the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation continue to pursue justice, urging anyone with additional information about the incident to come forward.
