Larrie Daniel DuBose Jr., a 34-year-old African American man from Cincinnati, Ohio, tragically passed away on October 21, 2020. He was born on June 10, 1986, and was known for his love of soccer and football, as well as his skills in cooking, carpentry, tattooing, and hairstyling. Larrie worked as an assistant manager at University Hospital and was a devoted member of the New Mission Missionary Baptist Church.
On the night of his death, Larrie was found suffering from gunshot wounds on
Burnet Avenue near Rockdale in the Avondale neighborhood. He was quickly transported to UC Medical Center, but despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries. The Cincinnati Police Department and the Fugitive Apprehension Squad launched an investigation into the incident.
Two suspects were arrested in connection with Larrie's murder. Kenneth Harris was taken into custody on Thanksgiving Day, 2020, and charged with the murder. A judge set his bond at $1 million. In January 2021, David Roper was also arrested and charged with Larrie's murder. Both suspects were arraigned in court, and the investigation continued as the Cincinnati Police Department's Homicide Unit sought further information from the community.
The loss of Larrie DuBose Jr. deeply affected his family and friends, who remembered him as a loving son, brother, father, and friend. His memory lives on through the love and support of those who knew him.
