Malcolm Brewton, a 25-year-old African American man from Cincinnati, OH, tragically lost his life on December 16, 2020. He was found shot in a vehicle near Simpson Avenue and Carpenter Drive in North College Hill. According to police reports, Brewton's girlfriend was driving the vehicle, and three other passengers were inside. The incident occurred during what was believed to be an attempted drug deal.
Brewton exited the vehicle and was shot by individuals who were supposed to be purchasing drugs. Unfortunately, police have not reported any arrests in connection with the killing.
In April 2021, Brewton's girlfriend, 18-year-old Sierrah Vance, was charged with involuntary manslaughter in connection with his death. Vance was driving the vehicle and had insisted that Brewton accompany her to the location of the drug deal. Vance's sister had set up the sale, and Vance was present when Brewton was shot. Vance's lawyer argued that she never intended any harm to come to Brewton. Vance was held at the Hamilton County Justice Center on a $50,000 bond awaiting trial.
The investigation into Malcolm Brewton's death remains ongoing, and authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward. The case has drawn significant attention, and the community continues to seek justice for Brewton.
