Terrence North, a 19-year-old male from Cincinnati, OH, was tragically shot and killed on February 1, 2021, in South Fairmount. He was one of two victims who arrived at the hospital with gunshot wounds after a double shooting incident on Saturn Street. Unfortunately, Terrence succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
The investigation into Terrence's death revealed that 14-year-old Mikeem Thomas was responsible for the shooting.
Thomas, who was prosecuted as an adult, pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including manslaughter and murder. He was sentenced to 31 to 36½ years in prison. Prosecutors stated that Thomas lured Terrence and another man to the location under the pretense of buying drugs and then opened fire, killing Terrence and wounding the other individual.
The case also involved other suspects and litigations. Carl Godfrey, Jason Gray, Mario Gordon, and Conn Inabnitt were indicted on various charges, including aggravated murder, for their roles in the series of killings that occurred between October 2020 and February 2021. Thomas was believed to be auditioning for more killings, as he kept a photo of Terrence's funeral service information on his cellphone.
The tragic death of Terrence North and the subsequent legal proceedings have brought some measure of closure to his family, although the pain of losing a loved one remains profound.
