Arthur DreVon McLemore, a 32-year-old African American man from Lorain, OH, tragically passed away on February 8, 2021. He was a lifelong resident of Lorain and was well-known in his community for his friendly demeanor and love for spending time with his two children, JaBre’A Lashay McLemore and Arthur DreVon McLemore Jr. McLemore was employed at Invacare in Elyria and enjoyed activities such as listening to music, dancing, playing cards, and telling jokes.
On the morning of his death,
McLemore was found with multiple gunshot wounds at his residence in the 700 block of West 21st Street. He was quickly transported to Lorain Mercy Hospital, but unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries. Detectives determined that 33-year-old Tremayne Wallace was responsible for the fatal shooting. Wallace was taken into custody and charged with McLemore's murder. Additionally, 33-year-old Donnise Atkins was arrested and charged with obstructing justice for calling 911 to report the shooting.
The Lorain Police Department conducted a thorough investigation, and both Wallace and Atkins faced additional charges forwarded to the Lorain County Prosecutor for consideration. The case drew significant attention from the local community, as McLemore was remembered fondly by his family, friends, and colleagues.
