Corey Anson Lawwill, a 22-year-old male from Cincinnati, Ohio, tragically passed away on February 14, 2021. Lawwill was shot four times in the parking lot of a condo complex on St. Andrews Drive in Pierce Township, Clermont County, Ohio. He was rushed to UC Medical Center but succumbed to his injuries.
The incident occurred after a verbal and physical altercation between Lawwill and a woman in the parking lot.
Cody Crawford, a 27-year-old man from Loveland, Ohio, was involved in the altercation and claimed that Lawwill struck his vehicle. Crawford called 911 and admitted to shooting Lawwill. Police found two firearms in Crawford's vehicle.
Crawford was arrested near the scene and later indicted on charges of first-degree murder, tampering with evidence, and carrying a concealed weapon. He pleaded not guilty and was held on a $250,000 bond. On March 9, 2023, Crawford was found guilty of murder and sentenced to 18 years to life in prison.
