Robinson was an innocent bystander caught in the crossfire of a shootout that took place in the Over-the-Rhine neighborhood. The incident occurred shortly after midnight when multiple groups engaged in a gun battle, resulting in approximately 40 shots being fired. Robinson was likely crossing Walnut Street when he was struck by gunfire and collapsed near the corner of Walnut and 13th streets.
