On February 5, 2013, the body of Male Calvin Austin, aged 53, was discovered in a Detroit sewer near Tyler Avenue and Sussex Street. The grim discovery was made by Detroit police and Michigan State Police, who responded to reports of a body within the water system. Upon arrival, they also retrieved a handgun from the sewer, leading to speculation about its potential connection to Austin's death.
