Lee Mardis Jr., a 24-year-old Black male from Columbus, OH, tragically lost his life on February 5, 2022. He was fatally shot while protecting his pregnant girlfriend on Gilbert Street. Despite the efforts of Columbus Fire Medic #1 to transport him to Grant Medical Center in critical condition, he succumbed to his injuries at 9:00 PM that evening.
