On April 27, 2022, Desire Hughes, a 7-month-old girl from Toledo, Ohio, tragically lost her life due to a gunshot wound to the chest. She was in a car being driven by her father, Jeremiah Hughes, when occupants of another vehicle fired shots at them. Desire was taken to the hospital but succumbed to her injuries.
