Jeffery Harold McClintock, a 58-year-old male from Bucyrus, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on October 20, 2022. He was born on July 9, 1964, to David and Mildred McClintock in Bucyrus, Ohio. After graduating from Bucyrus High School, he served in the military for three years with the Army. Jeffery was known for his love of camping and fishing with family and friends, and he was always helping someone on a work project.
On October 19, 2022, Jeffery was reported missing by his family. The next day, his body was discovered under a bridge near the Sandusky River in the 400 block of North Poplar Street. He had suffered a single gunshot wound, and the weapon used in the incident was found near his body along with other personal items. Preliminary evidence indicated that the death was a suicide, but the investigation remains open by Bucyrus detectives.
The Bucyrus Police Department has asked anyone with information regarding Jeffery's whereabouts between October 19 and October 20, 2022, to contact Detective Tracy Keegan at the Bucyrus Police Department. The family is devastated and shocked by his death and has planned a "Celebration of Life & Memorial Service" to honor his memory.
