Senior Police Officer Bobby Farrell Beane, aged 40, was shot and killed on April 23, 1993, while serving a search warrant for drugs in Winston-Salem, NC. Officer Beane had been with the Winston-Salem Police Department for 15 years and was survived by his wife and children. The suspect, a 38-year-old male, was found guilty of first-degree murder on November 12, 1993, and received a life sentence in prison. The suspect later died in prison on August 13, 2011.
