Susan Ruth Pearce Hayes, a 55-year-old Caucasian woman, passed away on June 10, 2007, at her residence in Boone, North Carolina. She was a well-known resident of Abingdon, Virginia, and was remembered fondly by her community. Susan was a beloved teacher at Green Valley Elementary School in Boone, where she was known for her positive attitude and love for every person she came in contact with.
