Savannah Taylor Karten, a 21-year-old female from Glen Allen, Virginia, was found deceased on October 29, 2016, in Boone, North Carolina. Savannah was a sophomore at Appalachian State University. Her body was discovered inside a vehicle in a parking lot on Tracy Circle, near the intersection of Mac Street. She had suffered a fatal gunshot wound. The Boone Police Department, along with the Appalachian State Police Department, initiated an investigation into her death.
