Emily Elizabeth Haddock, a 12-year-old girl from Fayetteville, NC, tragically lost her life on September 21, 2007. Emily, who was a seventh-grade student at New Century Middle School in Cameron, was home alone with strep throat when the incident occurred. She was described as a bright and cheerful child who enjoyed horseback riding, band at school, karaoke, and swimming. On that fateful day, Emily was shot multiple times with a .22-caliber handgun during a break-in at her home.
