June Carlyle, a 49-year-old woman from Garner, NC, tragically died on February 24, 2009, after being shot outside her home. The incident occurred early in the morning when deputies responded to a call at her residence on Creech Road. Carlyle, who operated a construction cleaning service out of her house, was shot by Jose Manuel Valdez-Masias, a former employee. Valdez-Masias also shot himself in the stomach but survived and was later arrested and charged with first-degree murder.
