On October 6, 2013, Jamal Martin, a 42-year-old African American man, was fatally shot in Detroit, Michigan. According to reports, Martin had returned from a night at a recording studio when he encountered a group of individuals outside his residence. He asked them to leave the area, which led to an argument and subsequent gunfire. Martin was killed during the incident, and the assailant fled the scene.
